  • With accelerated socioeconomic development and structural lifestyle changes, childhood and adolescent growth and developmental disorders in China have exhibited increasing complexity and a trend toward earlier onset, while the incidence of certain conditions continues to rise, posing a critical public health challenge. Active health, as a novel medical paradigm transcending traditional disease-centered models, has demonstrated significant advantages in the prevention and management of chronic diseases among children and adolescents. To address this, the China Behavioral Medical Research Center for Growth and Development (Behavioral Medicine Branch of Chinese Medical Association) and the Committee on Growth, Development and Metabolism (China Maternal and Child Health Research Association) have jointly developed the Consensus on the Establishment and Operational Standards of Standardized Growth-and-Development Medical Centers Based on Active Health Principles. This consensus integrates the core tenets of active health and innovatively proposes a "clinical-psychological-exercise-nutrition-education" quintuple management model. It provides healthcare institutions with a standardized framework for establishing growth and development medical centers, while offering evidencebased, practical active health management strategies for practitioners. The ultimate goal is to promote the holistic well-being of children and adolescents.
