  • Pulmonary electrical impedance tomography (EIT), as a bedside noninvasive, continuous, dynamic, and radiation-free lung ventilation monitoring technique, is now widely used in the diagnosis and treatment of critically ill patients. In addition to lung ventilation monitoring, saline contrast EIT for bedside monitoring of lung perfusion has recently attracted much attention. This article describes the hypertonic saline contrast lung perfusion EIT technique for bedside assessment of postoperative lung perfusion in two patients undergoing pulmonary endarterectomy, which provides a reference for the application of this technique in the perioperative management of this group of patients.
