Review the In-Hospital Visits and Follow-up Work in the Early Stage of PUMCH from the Medical Record of the Social Service Department of China's First Insulinoma Case

Abstract
The first reported case of insulinoma in our country, published on Journal of Clinical Investigation in 1936, was the 18th reported case worldwide. It included a comprehensive 14-page medical record of social service department and its attachments. The patient came from Peking Union Medical College Hospital(PUMCH) and the document objectively described the in-hospital visits and follow-up work for this case, revealing the visitation procedure of social service department. It also highlighted the close relationship between social service department and clinical doctors at that time, and the highly internationalized management of PUMCH.
