Abstract:
Objective To analyze and define the conceptual connotation and core attributes of "Hospital at Home" (HaH).
Methods A systematic literature search was conducted across seven databases, including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL, CNKI, Wanfang Data, and VIP Database. Literature was screened according to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Rodgers evolutionary concept analysis framework was employed to synthesize the concept regarding its evolution, attributes, antecedents, and consequences.
Results A total of 43 articles were included. Six core attributes of HaH were identified:provision of care in home settings, substitutability for acute medical services, facilitation of early discharge and hospitalization avoidance, service recipients with specific clinical indications, leadership of multidisciplinary teams, and integrated application of medical technology resources. The antecedents encompass patient and family readiness, policy and financial support, and organizational resource allocation. The consequences impact patients, caregivers, the healthcare system, and healthcare costs.
Conclusions This concept analysis clarifies the essential attributes and core connotation of HaH. Future research should further focus on service pathway development, construction of team collaboration mechanisms, and cost-effectiveness evaluation, so as to develop a HaH service model adapted to the Chinese context.
