Abstract:
Although follicular unit extraction (FUE) has been widely applied due to its advantages such as precision, minimally invasive nature, high number of extracted follicles, wide range of donor site selection, and less patient discomfort, perioperative complications such as infection, skin necrosis, significant bruising and swelling, and temporary hair loss can occur, which affect the outcome of the transplantation and the patient's experience. To promote the standardization and regularization of perioperative care for hair transplantation - follicular unit extraction and ensure the treatment effect of patients, the Nursing Branch of the China Association of Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine organized and invited domestic experts in related fields to fully discuss and formulate the "Expert Consensus on Perioperative Nursing Clinical Practice for Follicular Unit Extraction Hair Transplantation (2025)". This consensus comprehensively elaborates on preoperative preparation, surgical procedures, intraoperative cooperation, postoperative management, and prevention and treatment of complications for hair transplantation - follicular unit extraction, providing reference and guidance for the implementation of standardized perioperative care for follicular unit extraction hair transplantation.
